In the time of Miss Rona, a pick me up is something most of us have needed more often than not. The Boy, The Mole, The Fox And The Horse — written and illustrated by Charlie Mackesy — is the right type of ‘feel good’ in art form to effortlessly put a smile on your face and your heart. Honestly didn’t think it would be such a lovely book but it is, very heart warming. Best part if it knows no age. Suitable for mamas, papas, babies — everyone! Definitely worth the add to my little library.
I think everyone is just trying to get home
said The Mole.
Above is one of my favourite quotes from the book, it resonated with me the most and I think it will resonate with many folks. After all is said and done, we are all just trying to get home, our resting place, sanctuary, safe place… Expending a little kindness goes a long way.
Until this ‘panasonic’, I had no idea I had a low key fetish for hardbacks. Sweet baby melons, if I could get every book in hardback, I would be so happy. But as most readers and book lovers know, hardbacks do not come cheap. However, platforms such as takealot.com usually have book deals that not only allow you to buy your favourite books at a discounted rate — sometimes the hardback copies can be secured for down-to almost half the original price, which is pretty amazing if you’re trying to build a library on a budget. I got my copy of this book at a 28% discount, which was rather significant cause I’ve been consulting my bank account to allow my this purchase for months now haha.
